What we collect, why, who sees it, and how long we keep it. In plain language, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Last updated 2026-09-05

The short version

  • We collect what you tell us, and little else.Your name, contact details, property address, and what is wrong with your system. We do not track you around the internet.
  • We do not sell your information. Not to anyone, for any purpose. Your phone number in particular is never sold, rented, or shared for anyone else's marketing.
  • Support conversations are stored and Brandon reads them. That is the point: it means he arrives already knowing what has been tried.
  • You can ask us to delete it.Email us and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

What we collect

When you use the support chat

Everything you type, and the assistant's replies. If a ticket is opened, whatever you gave us for it: your name, a contact number, the property address, and a description of the fault. A conversation identifier is stored in your browser so the chat remembers where you were if you change page. It is cleared when you close the browser.

When you use the contact form

Your name, phone number, and message. Optionally your email address and the town or address of the property.

When you text or call us

The number you contacted us from, the content of your messages, and for calls a written record of what was said so the assistant can follow the conversation. Our phone and text service is provided by Twilio, which handles the message in transit.

What we do not collect

No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, and no cookies used to profile you. We never ask for a password, PIN, card number, or bank detail, and you should never give one to anyone claiming to be us.

Automated assistance, and a human behind it

Our support assistant is software, not a person, and it says so at the start of every conversation. To generate its replies, what you write is sent to Anthropic, which provides the underlying AI service and processes it on our behalf. Brandon reviews conversations that become tickets.

You can ask to deal with a person at any point, and the assistant will stop and pass you to Brandon rather than trying to handle it itself.

Who sees your information

Brandon, and the service providers we need to operate: Anthropic for the assistant, Twilio for calls and texts, and our web host. They handle it on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

Support conversations and tickets are kept while they are useful for servicing your system - a record of a past fault is genuinely helpful the next time something goes wrong on the same site. Ask us to delete yours and we will, unless we need it for a legal or accounting reason.

Text messages

See our SMS terms for how text messaging works, including how to stop messages.

Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Children

This is a service for property owners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Your choices

Ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing contact@byrd-it.com. Tell us enough to find your records.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means the revised version applies.
